Fishing
Similar to the delights for walkers, the Wye Valley in particular also offers
some excellent opportunities for anglers. Here are some of our suggestions.
Wye Fishery
Wyefishery is only a 10 minute drive from the M50 at Ross on Wye, 30 minutes
from the M4.There is easy access to both banks, with car parking areas.

Set in rural Herefordshire, where the River Wye meanders between Ross on Wye and
Monmouth, the fishery incorporates the Upper, Middle and Lower Hill Court
fisheries, almost 4 miles of double bank fishing. Most of the water has been
closed to the angling public for the last 50 years.
Along the Wyefishery, you will find a great variety of water habitats, ranging
from fast gravel runs to slow deep pools. Coarse species present include Barbel,
Chub, Pike, Roach, Dace and Eels, with the odd Perch and Carp turning up. Trout
and Salmon are also found, and Salmon fishing on named pools is available on the
Upper and Lower Hill Court stretches.
Professional angling tuition by Dave Roberts, who is an angling coach and a
member of the Professional Anglers Association. Dave can offer tuition to
beginners and seasoned anglers alike, and can provide all equipment and bait for
any type of coarse fishing.

The organisation is committed to preserving fish stocks in both the area's main
rivers and provides a 'Passport' to the rivers for anglers.
