The former country town of Monmouth is in a strategically important location at
the head of the lower Wye Valley, and gives quick access to both the M4 and the
M50.
There are two very good golf courses within easy reach, which are free of charge
for our guests. The rivers which run past the town are renowned for coarse and
salmon fishing, and the beautiful surrounding countryside provides excellent
walks.
Theatres in Cardiff, Newport, Hereford, Birmingham, and Bristol are all within
an hour's drive, and provide an excellent variety of entertainment from the
world-renowned Welsh National Opera, touring ballet and theatre companies, to
jazz and rock concerts.
